Singer/Songwriter and multi instrumentalist Millie May, launched her new material at Wolverhampton’s largest vegan festival on Sunday 8th September, in preparation of her forthcoming EP ‘Playhouse’. Release date, Saturday 26th October.

Millie May is a vocalist, pianist and acoustic guitarist who describes her style as atmospheric and quirky alternative pop, with influences from Siouxsie and the Banshees, Kate Bush, David Bowie and Lana Del Rey. Up until now she has been known as a solo acoustic performer, but has since teamed up with band members Sam Alcock (lead guitar), Rebecca Hubbard (Bass) and Toby Langford (Drums) to introduce her new sound.

At 17, Millie May began performing live in her hometown of Shrewsbury in Shropshire around the open mic scene. It is now almost 9 years on and since, she has had the pleasure of playing Lunar Festival 2018, on the New Breed Stage, Silverstone Grand Prix 2019, recorded a track for the soundtrack of upcoming indie film ‘Relentless’, performed live on The Honey Box Live, gained track of the week with her original ‘Songbird’ on Switch Radio. Become a guest on multiple radio shows; including Everybody live lounge on South Birmingham Radio, Hillz FM, Cannock Chase FM and Black Country Radio and performs weekly at many venues and events across the UK.

Playhouse, the single was released on the 20th August 2019, and is currently a free download, available for a limited time only from Band Camp, Reverbnation and Sound Cloud.          

In autumn 2019, Millie May will be holding multiple EP launch parties across the UK. To kick it all off she will be performing an unplugged set in store Shrewsbury’s HMV, on the 26th October. The 2nd November you can find her at Escape Bar West, London and on the 5th November she will be live at The Actress and Bishop, Birmingham with support from Birmingham based acts, Karen Swan, Jack Goodall and Genevieve Miles (more acts to be confirmed). If you can’t wait that long, Millie May will also be performing a solo gig at ACM Birmingham  on the 8th October, helping raise awareness for mental health, she will be also headlining Alberts Shed, Shrewsbury on the 16th October.    

From the 26th October, The Playhouse EP will be available to stream and download from Itunes, Spotify, Deezer, Bandcamp and Reverbnation. You can also pick up a physical copy from HMV, available in the Shrewsbury and Telford stores.
