Low Hill has been selected to receive up to £20million of Government funding through the Pride in Place programme, a long-term investment initiative designed to support stronger communities, thriving neighbourhoods and opportunities for local people.

The programme will support projects and improvements in the area over the next ten years, and local people will play a key role in deciding what those priorities should be.

The consultation will help create a community-led Regeneration and Investment Plan, which will set out how future investment should be used in Low Hill. The findings will be reported to the Pride in Place Board, made up of local people, and will directly influence future funding decisions and investment priorities.

The survey asks people what they value most about Low Hill, what improvements they would like to see and which issues should be prioritised in the future.

Topics covered include community safety, health and wellbeing, community assets, business opportunities, life skills, and support for children and young people.

Chris Allen, Chair of the Low Hill Pride in Place Board, said: “This is a major opportunity for the people of Low Hill to help shape the future of their neighbourhood. The area has been awarded up to £20million over the next decade, and we want local people to tell us what matters most to them.

"Whether you live, work, study or spend time in Low Hill, your views can help influence future investment and ensure that funding is directed towards the priorities that local people identify.

The programme is governed by nearly 20 of your friends and neighbours who will make sure that everyone’s voice is heard - and as a thank you for taking part, everyone who completes the survey can choose to enter a prize draw for the chance to win shopping vouchers worth £100, £50 or £20."

Councillor Stephen Simkins, City of Wolverhampton Council Leader, said: “This is a unique opportunity for local people to help shape the next chapter of Low Hill’s story.

“I would urge everyone, whether you live there, run a business, or simply visit the area to get involved. Your views will help create a plan that reflects the real needs and aspirations of the community.”
