Tree collections will take place between 9th to 12th January, with all trees shredded and turned into biofuel, helping the planet while supporting local people living with life limiting conditions.

Rachel Overfield, Chief Executive Officer at Compton Care said: “We would like to say a big thank you to the City of Wolverhampton Council for supporting the campaign again this year and to everyone who has generously treecycled with us in the past. Last year we collected over 1,100 trees and raised an amazing £22,000. By supporting us this Christmas, your donation will contribute to the specialist care we provide to local people when they need us most.”

The Treecycling scheme was officially launched by The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, who has selected Compton Care as one of his chosen charities to support during his term in office.

He said: “Compton Care does incredible work in our communities all year round and its Treecycling scheme is a great way to support them. It really is a win win, just register your tree, the team will collect and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way, and your donation will help them continue to provide vital services to local people and their families”.

Those wishing to recycle their real Christmas tree through the scheme can register their tree with JustHelping. For more information, please contact fundraising@comptoncare.org.uk or call 0300 323 0250.
