Over 325,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have now been given out in Wolverhampton, according to the latest figures.
Data shows that 170,581 residents have now had at least one dose and 154,626 have had two doses of the life-saving vaccine, with a total of 325,207 doses administered.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “We know with confidence that the vaccines are safe and effective. The latest Public Health England figures suggest they have saved over 112,300 lives in England so far, as well as stopping over 143,600 people from becoming seriously ill and needing hospital treatment.
“It’s great that more than 154,000 people in Wolverhampton now have that same protection, but we need everyone in the city who is eligible to have their vaccine to do so. That way we can protect ourselves and those around us, reduce pressure on the NHS and avoid any further restrictions this autumn.
“Walk-in vaccination clinics are open across the city for anyone aged 16 or over, and as there is no need to book, you can just pop along at a convenient time.”
