The portal gives residents secure, 24-hour access to a range of council services, allowing them to manage their accounts online at a time that suits them.

Since launching last year, increasing numbers of residents are choosing to access their Council Tax, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support information digitally.

Through the Citizen Access Portal, residents can view their latest Council Tax bill online, sign up for paperless billing, receive email notifications when bills and account updates are available, check balances and payment instalments, access Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support information, and submit claims and report changes in circumstances.

Councillor Sally Green, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: "It's fantastic to see more than 21,000 residents now using the Citizen Access Portal and embracing the convenience of accessing council services online.

“The portal allows people to view important information, manage their accounts and report changes whenever it suits them, while the council is ensuring that traditional routes remain available for those who prefer them.

"As well as making it easier for people to deal with the council, increasing the use of online and paperless services also helps reduce printing and postage, supporting our environmental goals, and I would encourage anyone who hasn't yet registered to sign up and see the benefits for themselves."
