The free drop-in session will take place at the city centre Wolves at Work hub in the i10 building, Railway Drive (WV1 1LD) on Wednesday, September 23, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
It will bring together local employers, training providers, and employment support services to help residents explore new opportunities and take the next step towards employment.
Councillor Paula Brookfield, City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for Jobs, Skills and Opportunities, said: “Securing a brighter future for local people by getting them into good jobs and training is one of the key priorities for the city and I urge people to drop-in at this event – it could change your life.
“Business Week brings into focus what businesses want from employees and this event helps us connect employers to job seekers who have what they need.
“Drop-in sessions like this are invaluable in reaching those who require support and the Wolves at Work programme is an essential part of Wolverhampton’s employment and skills support offer.”
At the event there will be the chance to meet local employers with current job vacancies, explore opportunities through Wolves at Work, speak to training providers about courses and skills development, gain careers advice and information about different sectors, network with employers and industry professionals and receive support with applications and career planning.
Free employability workshops will also be run throughout the day to help people improve their job applications and boost their confidence.
The workshops include advice on CV writing, cover letters & personal statements, effective job search techniques, using LinkedIn for job searching, personal development, civil service applications and competency-based application support.
Businesses will be promoting Christmas recruitment opportunities, current vacancies, employer engagement activities, training and skills pathways, and offering sector-specific careers advice.
