It is part of a fresh wave of road resurfacing across the city - underlined by the council’s £50m investment in the highways network over the next five years.
Crews will work at night, with no weekend closures, to minimise traffic impact.
All work is weather permitting, and signed diversions will be in place.
Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal, Cabinet Member for City Transport at City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “Both Ring Road St George’s and Chapel Ash island play a key part in helping thousands of vehicles move around and into the city every day and improving them will help keep traffic flowing smoothly, support public transport reliability and boost safety for all road users.
“With more than 480 miles of road across the city we can’t resurface everything at once – no council in the country can.
“But what we can do is use a data led, informed approach to make sure we carry out resurfacing where it can have the greatest impact.
“Alongside this we can use other proven surface treatments to keep other roads in good condition for longer.
“Focusing on this preventative approach will mean we can steadily improve the standard of our roads and reduce the number of urgent pothole repairs needed.”
