The programme will provide SMEs and social businesses with the following:

  • Support and guidance to help start-ups develop a credible business plan and financial forecasting
  • Access to relevant support on finance, premises and skills
  • Equipping entrepreneurs with the leadership and management skills to support their early-stage business
  • Facilitating local recruitment, business growth and productivity
  • Mentoring support and peer networks to support survival and growth
  • Links to the wider Business Growth West Midlands mainstream and specialist social business support programmes across the region to assist continued growth and development
  • Current thinking and approaches to social economy growth shared through workshops and events

Councillor Chris Burden, City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, said: “Wolverhampton has been recognised as a city of entrepreneurs and continues to attract business start-ups, particularly in the social economy.

“This programme will give entrepreneurs a solid business plan, excellent support, and the tools to adapt to and overcome changing market conditions to achieve success.

“I would urge any start-up to get in touch and tap into this invaluable free resource.”
