Private rented sector tenants and landlords in Wolverhampton are being encouraged to use the new Call Us First website as their first port of call to find support with housing matters.

The Call Us First service replaces the Rent with Confidence scheme in addressing the challenging housing landscape shaped by local and national factors.

The new website offers:

  • Improved functionality and a customer friendly design
  • Landlord/agent/tenant pages providing advice and information
  • Signposting to key services, partners and stakeholders
  • Providing updates, legislation changes and news about the private rented sector
  • Ensuring an efficient and streamlined referral process to Call Us First
  • Acts as a one stop shop for the private rented sector

The Call Us First service provides an inclusive, preventative and targeted approach to support early intervention for private sector tenants, landlords and owner occupiers.

The aim is to prevent homelessness and help people stay in their homes.  It is a free, impartial, and no-obligation advice service for all residents in Wolverhampton.

City of Wolverhampton Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for City Housing, Councillor Steve Evans, said: “The realigned service will establish a more meaningful and Wolverhampton-centred approach, to working with private sector landlords, tenants and owner occupiers to improve properties and management practices.

“The new website provides the platform for us to achieve this vision and is part of our ongoing work to provide early intervention to prevent people becoming homeless.”
