It will take place monthly at Central Library, with sessions running on the first Thursday of the month from 1pm to 4pm, the first of which will take place on Thursday 4 June, 2026.

The hub will bring together local services, charities and community organisations in one place, making it easier for people to get advice, support, or simply have a conversation about what they might need.

Partners will work together behind the scenes so things feel more straightforward and joined up – meaning that instead of having to contact multiple organisations or repeatedly explain their situation, people can start with a single conversation. From there, the team will help connect them directly to the right support.

The hub will also recognise that service life doesn’t just affect the person in uniform, it affects the people around them too. By welcoming families as well, it aims to reflect the reality of military life and make sure support is there for everyone who needs it.

The Armed Forces Hub is being delivered by STEPWAY CIO, working alongside the City of Wolverhampton Council and a wide range of local partners, and is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, helping to make sure that people are treated fairly and can access the support available to them.

Councillor Craig Collingswood, Mayor of Wolverhampton and chair of the city’s Armed Forces Covenant Board, said: “The Armed Forces Hub is about making sure that the people who serve our country – and the families who stand alongside them – know they have support here in Wolverhampton.

“We want this to be a place where people feel comfortable coming forward, where they’re listened to, and where they can get the help they need without things feeling complicated. It’s something I’m very proud to see launched.”

Neil Binder, from STEPWAY CIO, added: “Too often, veterans and families are passed from service to service, and it can feel like hard work just figuring out where to start.

“What we’ve tried to do with the Armed Forces Hub is make things simpler for people. Through the hub, we can have that first conversation, really understand what’s going on, and then connect people directly into the right support. It’s about working together properly, so people feel supported rather than signposted.”

Residents who are part of the Armed Forces community are encouraged to come along, find out what’s available, and get involved.
