The summer may be past its best, but that’s not to say there isn’tlots still to enjoy outside – this weekend’s Midland Game Fair is a prime example.

The leading event of its type, the fair is held over two days in the glorious setting of Weston Park, in Weston-under-lizard, near Wolverhampton.

It features a huge host of entertainments for people who enjoy the countryside, in all its forms, from clay pigeon shooting, to fishing demonstrations, gundog competitions, and displays of many different animals.

There’s also a chance to do some serious shopping, thanks to the 600 trade stalls at the event, offering everything from antiques to fine art, plus the opportunity to watch rural crafts people in action and learn a little more about their trade.

The fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday (18th and 19th) and even includes the chance to enjoy an overnight stay at the wonderful stately home there.
