Based in Pattingham, South Staffordshire, the family-run firm is a principal contracting business built on family values and a commitment to giving back.

Specialising in shop and industrial fit-outs of commercial buildings, the firm started out as SV (Seven Valleys Interiors) back in February 2015 but has grown significantly following a rebrand and a move in 2024 to rural offices, just outside Wolverhampton, which the team renovated themselves..

The business is headed up by Phil Dagnall, who made the leap from being a carpentry sub-contractor and shop fitter to running his own venture.

Phil, who began his career in construction more than 20 years ago having first started out as a labourer, said: “I’m incredibly proud of what has been achieved over the past decade and especially the last 18 months.

“Our success couldn’t have been achieved without a great team who have come together to get us to the position we are in today.”

Among the key team members is Phil’s daughter, Leigh Dagnall, who works as office manager and handles the marketing side of the business which she has watched grow from a young age.

Proud to be working alongside her dad in expertly designed premises at The Stables House, Clive Road, Pattingham, that were previously home to the Cowherd Inn (formerly the Old Vicarage), the team have grown from when I was a little girl.

It’s absolutely amazing.” Operations nationally, SV Contracts specialises in delivering high-quality, tailored solutions for commercial, retail, industrial, and care environments, creating spaces that “inspire, endure and elevate lifestyles”.

The company handles varied and complex projects and to date works have included fit-outs for major car dealerships including Evans Halshaw and Audi, industrial and shop works for luxury women’s fashion brand in Chelsea, London.

It also recently finished a complete fit-out including the installation of a new roof, all M&E and plumbing at Storek Vin Birmingham.

Going forward, the company also has already worked with big names including Savills, Revolve Real Estate and CBRE – is actively pursuing growth in the industrial sector and aims to work more closely with major surveyors, landlords, architects and retailers as well as local authorities.

The company’s objective is to create jobs by providing jobs and fostering a happy workplace. The other extension into SV Contracts’ involvement in the community.

The company supports a raft of good causes including Compton Care and Birmingham Dogs Home, and it also endeavours to help provide Christmas dinner for underprivileged families through Cash for Kids charity, Birmingham, each year.

Phil also serves as a director for BCFC Property Services, a Wall Heath-based friendship group, which is one of the company’s main chosen charities.

Leigh also took part in a sky dive in aid of the Little Princess Trust, and recently the firm staged a book drive at Wightwick Hall School, Wolverhampton.

Phil said: “We’re a family company with a big outreach and a big heart.” Looking ahead, SV Contracts is expanding into the premises next door, which will make its base 75 per cent bigger.

The new space will be used to host networking and charity events, establishing Phil’s desire to eventually establish a foundation to “do bigger things to raise money”.

This year the firm is also sponsoring the programme for the 2026 Express & Star Business Awards as a way to help celebrate the success of the region’s businesses and community.
