Luke Dalton performed in two sold out shows at the Mid Autumn Festival in Birmingham on Sunday 28th September with a crowd of 1,500 attendees.
Luke Dalton, 39, is a professional actor, pianist and composer with a long list of acting credits on stage. A member of both Action Theatre Group and A Comedy Theatre Group, he has also appeared in films, and most notably starred in the TV series "War Above The Trenches" for UKTV Yesterday, which he also narrated.
On Sunday 28th September he performed two shows with the New Moon Players in an Arts Council England funded project at the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre for the Mid Autumn Festival organised by the Birmingham Chinese Festival Committee. This culminated in a third performance at the Ming Moon Restaurant in Birmingham’s Chinese Quarter, hosted by the Birmingham Chinatown Business Association.
The shows brought to life the Chinese creation myth, blending dramatic storytelling with cultural reverence.
The shows captivated audiences with two sold-out performances, reaching 1500 people. “Both performances at the Mid Autumn Festival sold out almost immediately,” said Luke. “The third performance was held at the Ming Moon Restaurant. Each show had a great reception from attendees”.
Luke said: "It was a pleasure performing alongside a talented cast of actors bringing ancient mythology to life with authenticity and cultural pride. It was also exciting to be part of an event which celebrated the rich cultural traditions and mythology of China. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Chinese Festival Committee Birmingham, Birmingham Chinatown Business Association, Birmingham Chinese Heritage, Ming Moon Birmingham, Caste Away Arts, and Ian Henery — without whom these three performances would not have been possible".
