Leanne Cooper is a Poet, and Author from the West Midlands, who since her debut in 2017, has gone on to perform across the Midlands and Stafford, including the Wolverhampton Literary Festival as part of Poets Against Racism.

Leanne has been published both online, and in print for various anthologies, and was shortlisted for the position of Wolverhampton's first Poet Laureate.  For this year’s Wolverhampton Literary Festival, she has been part of the Overhear poetry project: writing and recording a poem for Newhampton Arts Centre, which can be collected by visiting the venue, and listened to via the Overhear app. Leanne's first poetry collection, ‘Awake at 3 AM’, was published in March 2018, and she released her second poetry collection ‘All For You’ in February of this year. Both collections are available on Amazon, and signed copies can be purchased by contacting Leanne.

Most recently, Leanne was chosen to take part in the 2nd edition of the Poetree project. Leanne's poem 'Through Your Eyes' was included as part of the Spring Poetree, and a recording of her performing the poem was shown in the online event. The Summer edition of Poetree will include the poem 'A Perfect Summer's Day' which was written one exceptionally beautiful day 2 years ago, and which Leanne felt would fit perfectly with the Summer Poetree.

The Poetree project is something that Leanne is most supportive of, stating what a wonderful project it is, in the way in which it brings together experienced and new poets to showcase work that is presented to the community in a beautifully interesting and unique way; she is most grateful to have been included twice now, and looks forward to being involved in any future projects.
