The Love Your Community fun days will be taking place on Wednesday 29 July at Dunstall Community Centre, Dunstall Ave, Wednesday 5 August at Big Venture Centre, Chesterton Road, Wednesday 12 August at Ettingshall Memorial Hall, George Street, and Wednesday 19 August at East Park Methodist Church, Brooklands Parade. Each will run from 11am to 2pm and entry is free.
Partners including the City of Wolverhampton Council, community organisations and charities, the police and other service providers will be on hand to provide a range of activities for people of all ages, including a bouncy castle, face painting, sports and games, arts and crafts, and gardening, as well as advice and support stalls.
Visitors will also be encouraged to share what they love about their local community, and suggest ideas for improvements in their neighbourhoods.
In addition, there will be a special eco-themed Love Your Community event taking place at St Chad’s Play Space, Lime Street, Wolverhampton on Monday (22 July) in conjunction with council's Green Cities team, featuring a wide range of free activities with a green, eco and sustainability theme. Again, the session will run from 11am to 2pm.
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: "We first held these Love Your Community fun days last summer and they proved hugely successful, giving residents the chance to come together, have fun, learn more about what's happening locally, and share ideas which could improve their neighbourhood.
"This year's events will once again include a wide range of activities and information, so I'd encourage residents of all ages to come along, get involved and make the most of what's on offer."
