When receiving a newsletter from the The Bicycle Hub a business member on TheBestOfTelfordandWrekin yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to see that Diabetes UK made an appearance in the text!

Being an insulin dependant Diabetic myself I know how incredible Diabetes Uk are at developing new training and activities for Diabetic people to raise funding for further research into the condition. But from The Bicycle Hub newsletter I realised that two gentleman had taken it upon their selves to push that extra mile and raise money for the Diabetics among us independently.

This is what the Newsletter read:

“We're (The Bicycle Hub) sponsoring a couple of local guys to ride across the Andes. Ross Bland is from Cressage and his mate Bill Forrest is from Loggerheads. They are going to cycle 1600 miles from Lima (Peru) to Salta (Argentina). Ross is a diabetic who needs to regularly inject himself with insulin.Bill is being trained by the Humming Bird Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital so that he will be able to support Ross should something go wrong with his insulin levels. The guys are raising funds to support the charity Diabetes UK . To find our more and to make a donation in support of their initiative visit justgiving.com/overtheandesthehardway

Fantastic news!! And an extra big thank you to The Bicycle Hub for sponsoring them. So … if your thinking of a way to kick start your Autumn, why not visit The Bicycle Hub and go for a bike ride!
