Spread across 26 acres, the Black Country Living Museum receives around 350,000 visitors on average year-round, as well as 48,000 school children, so heating is an important part of the visitor experience, as well the comfort of the museum’s many staff.

With the unpredictable winter weather, large sites like the Black Country Living Museum face increased demand for heating and hot water, so it was essential they had a commercial partner they could trust.

Lord Combustion Services, which has operated in the Black Country since 1982, are experts in the installation and maintenance of energy-efficient heating solutions, serving thousands of commercial sites throughout the West Midlands.

The firm has been the museum’s heating and hot water partner for the past two years, managing the site’s central heating systems year-round along with looking after some of their air handling units and carrying out emergency maintenance.

In the new video, Lord Combustion explain the work involved in keeping thousands of visitors warm during the winter season.

Stuart Smith, Managing Director at Lord Combustion, said: “We’re very proud indeed to be working with the Black Country Living Museum. As a Black Country engineering business, we believe it’s very important that the region’s industrial story is preserved for future generations - so we’re delighted to play our part by helping the museum keep thousands of visitors warm.”
