This public consultation follows the recent ward boundary review undertaken by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) which set new ward boundaries.

Council Cabinet Member for Governance, Councillor Paula Brookfield, said: “It’s vital to have feedback from our local communities and I encourage all to participate and share their views in the current review of polling arrangements.

“Your input will help to inform our review which will ensure that all polling districts and polling places align to the new ward boundaries. Please make sure you use this chance before the public consultation closes on Friday 26th August.”

You can view the proposals – which aim to further reduce the use of schools and decrease the number of temporary portacabin stations used as polling places – as well as respond to the consultation here:

Councillor Brookfield added: “I’d also like to remind everyone that it’s time to ensure that your details are up to date on the electoral register.

“Letters will be sent to households in August from the Electoral Registration Officer on this; if you have received a green coloured letter, you only need to respond if there is a change. If you have received a yellow coloured letter, you must respond please, even if there are no changes to make.”
