Businesses and residents are being offered the chance to tap into their wealth of knowledge by attending any of the free events available across the week.

On Monday, September 21, take the opportunity to see first-hand the impact of community radio with the chance to go behind the scenes at WCR FM and discover how a volunteer-led community interest company is making a real difference.

Meet the team, tour the studios and record your own jingles! Discover how Wolverhampton’s community radio station supports people through communication training, confidence building and skills development.

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre will launch its ten-year business strategy at an event on Tuesday, September 22 (6pm-10pm). Hosted by Amber Sandhu and the theatre’s executive team, guests will be guided through the theatre’s vision and ambitions for the next decade and will be joined by a panel of distinguished guests including Abid Hussain, Kiri Grant and Duncan Jones.

Councillor Stephen Simkins, City of Wolverhampton Council Leader, said: “Business Week gives us the chance to celebrate the impressive businesses we have in Wolverhampton.

“It gives them the chance to highlight their achievements and share their experiences for the benefit of the wider business community in the city.

“We have an array of businesses hosting and leading events throughout the week and I’d encourage businesses and residents to get along and tune in.”

BlackRook Academy will celebrate the opening of their new city centre offices and training facilities at the iconic Chubb Building on Friday, September 25 (2pm-5pm). The relaxed drop-in event offers the chance to network with local businesses, education providers and regional partners, meet the BlackRook team, and discover how they support employers and individuals to develop social media, digital marketing and content creation skills. 

Wrapping up Business Week is a Friday Lates session at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on September 25 (6pm-9pm), where sustainable fashion hub, Reinvntd CIC, will be leading ‘Rethinking Consumption: A Conversation Inspired by Art and Fashion’ – a panel discussion exploring what art, fashion and creativity can teach us about consumption and sustainability. Hosted by Maya Patel, Founder and Director of Reinvntd, the discussion will explore how innovation, repair, reuse and the circular economy can help shape a more sustainable future, inspired by the gallery's internationally significant Pop Art collection.
