Local group member George Davey (pictured) took part in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon last Sunday (11th) the first since Rob passed away last year.
Here is what he had to say at the end.
Running 26.2 miles in hot conditions, with injury and illness to battle with, wasn’t an easy challenge… but compared to a warrior fighting MND this was a walk in the park. I took part in the run to endure a personal challenge, whilst spreading awareness for MND, and support the wider community.
As with many runners on the day, the going got tough. Taking a moment to think of why we were taking part, it didn’t take much to continue on our way and get the miles ticked off. It was great to see smiles on faces of those going through physical and mental pain, all doing so for a greater cause.
I look forward to lacing up the shoes again at Christmas, continuing to fundraise for those who need
NO FINISH LINE UNTIL THERE’S A CURE
untry MNDA.
