Councillor Chris Burden, City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, said: "We’re delighted to once again provide free all day parking in Wednesfield over the busy Christmas period and we've no doubt people will take up the offer, and pay a visit to the many wonderful businesses in the town."

Councillor Qaiser Azeem, City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Transport, said: "It's a great way to support our local economy and we hope this will make shopping and days out even more enjoyable for everyone."

Free city centre parking - all day Saturdays and Sundays and after 3pm from Monday to Friday - will be available between 6 to 23 December at Temple Street, Tempest Street, School Street, Peel Street and St George's car parks.

Fold Street car park will be free after 3pm weekdays only from 8 to 23 December, while Broad Street is currently free to use between 5pm to 5am until 5 January.
