Folk Musicians Flock to Wolverhampton.

Folk fans from all over the Midlands will be thrilled as Folk at the NAC returns to Wolverhampton this Spring. The impressive line-up is new for 2020 and features some of the country’s most prestigious acts from today’s folk music scene.

 

Kicking things off is the much anticipated return of Chris Wood. With gentle intelligence this songwriting master weaves the tradition with his own contemporary parables, his writing has been said to share the same timeless quality as Richard Thompson at his best. Saturday 29th February - NAC - £12.50.

 

Greg Russell also returns to the arts centre but this time joining forces with Ciaran Algar. This show combines Russell’s powerful vocals and driving guitar style with Algar’s All-Ireland winning fiddle playing and the duo have become one of the most sought after acts on the British folk scene. Saturday 14th March- NAC - £12.50.

 

Calan are the band brought together by the remarkable talents of five young musicians, giving a fresh and vibrant sound to traditional Welsh music with a contemporary & lively approach. Saturday 25th April - NAC - £15.

 

Steve Tilston and Jez Lowe are two of the UK acoustic/folk scene’s finest songwriters and they are joining forces for a series of concerts filled with songs and music, conversation and intimate insights into their approach to their craft. Saturday 30th April -  NAC - £12.50.
