Libraries across the city will be hosting a range of one off activities between now and the end of the month, offering opportunities for people to get creative, learn something new, meet others and explore their interests.
Among the highlights is a special celebration for fans of bestselling fantasy author Sarah J. Maas. The ‘A Court of Splintered Harmony’ release event will take place at Central Library on Tuesday 27 October, featuring crafts, cake and book themed activities.
Libraries will also be taking part in Green Libraries Week from 21 to 28 October, with events designed to encourage conversations around sustainability and the environment. Activities include a Zine Making Workshop exploring nature and climate change at Bob Jones Community Hub on Friday 23 October.
Seasonal creativity is also on the agenda, with a pumpkin book folding workshop at Tettenhall Library on Saturday 24 October and a Halloween themed coffee morning at Central Library on Friday 30 October. For those planning ahead, a Christmas Craft Workshop will be held at Tettenhall Library on Saturday 31 October.
Alongside these special events, libraries continue to offer a wide range of regular activities, including reading groups, craft sessions, coffee mornings, board games and IT support sessions across the city. Councillor Obaida Ahmed, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: "Our libraries are much more than places to borrow books. They are welcoming community spaces where people can explore new interests, take part in a wide range of activities and make new friends.
"This autumn programme offers something for everyone, whether you're a keen reader, looking to get creative or simply want to spend time with others in your community.
"I'm particularly pleased to see our libraries supporting Green Libraries Week, helping residents learn more about sustainability while bringing people together through fun and engaging events.
"I would encourage anyone who hasn't visited their local library recently to come along and see what's on offer."
