Anyone over the age of 16 who has not yet had their coronavirus vaccinations can still get them at walk-in clinics open around Wolverhampton this week.
Walk-in Covid-19 vaccinations are available for anyone living or working in the city, with 16 and 17 year olds currently receiving a single dose and people aged 18 or older receiving two doses, eight weeks apart.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “For anyone who has yet to have their first dose, or is now due their second one, walk-in vaccination clinics are open every day this week around the city.
“There’s no need to book ahead, and all of the location have Pfizer vaccine, which is recommended for anyone under the age of 40. Most clinics have AstraZeneca too, as second doses for people who had an AstraZeneca first dose.
“Many residents will soon become eligible for booster doses too, six months after their second dose. These are being arranged through GPs so people should wait to be contacted for their boosters, which are not currently available at walk-in clinics.”
Latest figures show there were 358.9 new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people in Wolverhampton over the last seven days. That means 944 people in the city tested positive for the virus in that same period – though the true number of new cases will likely be higher.
