They will be in a number of city schools on GCSE results day this Thursday (20 August, 2026) and are offering daily drop in sessions at the Civic Centre over the coming weeks to support anyone collecting their GCSE, A-level, T-level or other results this month.
Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: "Our Connexions careers advisers are ready and waiting to help and support anyone who has received their results, and are unsure as to what to do next.
"They will be in as many of our schools as possible on GCSE results day and providing coordinated support to others. If you need support to help you into further education, work or training, please get in touch for impartial careers advice and guidance."
Careers advisers will be at Our Lady of St Chads Academy, Smestow Academy, Moseley Park Academy, Vireo Academy and Kairos Academy on Thursday, with information and guidance resources provided to all other schools to ensure students can access support and advice about their post-16 options.
They are also hosting a drop in session at the Civic Centre from 12pm to 2pm every weekday until Monday 7 September, offering careers education, information, advice and guidance to young people who have not yet secured a destination for September, including help sourcing and applying for apprenticeships, signing up to colleges or training providers, and career planning.
Careers advisers also host a regular weekly drop in every Monday afternoon at i10 Unit 5, Victoria Square, Wolverhampton.
Alternatively, students or parents looking for advice can email connexions@wolverhampton.gov.uk, call 01902 554499 or visit Workbox.
Councillor Coogan added: "Results day is just one step in a young person's journey, and there are many different routes to success. Whatever your results, support is available, and our message is simple: talk to us, explore your options and don't feel that you have to make decisions on your own."
