This partnership will see Diamond Home Care and the college working collaboratively on Staff Professional Development opportunities through the college’s LEAD programme and seek new talent through engagement with the Apprenticeship Team. This will enable Diamond Care to invest in existing and new staff and grow the business in order to meet the needs of its expanding client group.
The PowerPartner Programme is a college initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between education and industry, ensuring that the curriculum remains dynamic, contemporary and closely aligned with the evolving needs of local and regional businesses and organisations.
Businesses and organisations are encouraged to join to make a tangible difference to learners through a dedicated skills pledge. This pledge enables partners to share their expertise, inspire the next generation, and support the development of a skilled and confident workforce.
As part of their partnership, Diamond Home Care will have the opportunity to contribute to the College’s employer boards, allowing them to shape future curriculum priorities and ensure students leave with the skills businesses and organisations need most.
In return, the company will benefit a range of wide range of benefits, including wider promotional activities and discounts across the college estate. Jacquie Carman, Principal of Halesowen College, commented: "We welcome Diamond Home Care to our partner programme. They recognise how important it is to work with us to develop their existing staff as well as resource a new talent pipeline through our apprenticeship opportunities. These partnerships allow us to ensure that our curriculum remains relevant and responsive to meet local skills development needs."
Harpal Baines, Operations Director at Diamond Home Care, added: " Diamond Home Care was founded in Halesowen almost 20 years ago with a clear purpose – to deliver outstanding care and support to our local community. Over the years, we have built a strong reputation for providing high-quality services to older people and adults with additional support needs.
“We are proud to be partnering with Halesowen College to invest in the future of our workforce and the wider borough. This collaboration is about more than recruitment – it is about creating meaningful pathways for personal development, employment, and long-term career progression within the care sector. By working together, we are strengthening our commitment to community, opportunity, and excellence in care."
The PowerPartner Programme is endorsed by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and is open to businesses and organisations excited about shaping the future of education and employment opportunities for local people. This collaboration is an excellent opportunity to support learners while strengthening ties between education and industry.
