People who want to improve their maths skills can study from home by signing up to an online course being run by City of Wolverhampton College.
The college is offering a fast-track GCSE maths course for those who need a Grade 4 or above and want to fit studying around their other commitments.
The course - starting in January 2026 - covers calculations, fractions, ratios, percentages and decimals, geometry, algebra, sequences and graphs, and probability and statistics.
Studying for the GCSE will enable students to develop accurate mathematical skills, apply mathematical techniques in a range of situations, respond to questions with considered and informed answers and use problem-solving techniques.
Participants will be able to join live online teaching sessions on Monday evenings 6pm-9pm, access tutorials online or in-person every six weeks and get extra support in the college's Maths and English Hubs during the February half-term break and Easter holidays.
To access the course, applicants are required to have an existing maths GCSE grade 3/D or Level 2 functional skills qualification and will be required to attend college to sit their final exams in May and June 2026.
People without the grade to sign up for the course can apply to do a functional skills programme to teach them the basics of maths or English and enable them to progress to the GCSE in the future.
