Inspectors visited Manor Primary School in September and, in their report published recently, describe pupils as feeling 'welcomed, valued and included', and flourishing because of the positive relationships they have with staff. Inspectors found pupils approach lessons with enthusiasm, curiosity and confidence and achieve highly from their starting points.
Pupils' outcomes at the end of Key Stage 2 are 'consistently high and exceed national averages', with children leaving Manor Primary with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for the next stage of their education.
The school's inclusive culture was praised, with leaders placing 'inclusion at the heart of their work'. Inspectors found pupils' needs are identified quickly, barriers to learning are removed without delay and effective support is put in place which ensures that all pupils access the curriculum successfully. As a result, 'pupils feel valued, included and fully involved in school life'.
Pupils with special educational needs or disabilities and disadvantaged pupils ‘flourish within the school's inclusive culture’ and can access learning successfully alongside their peers.
Children in the early years 'thrive' in a happy, caring environment where they feel secure and develop confidence. Early reading, writing, and mathematics are taught 'consistently well', meaning children leave Reception well prepared for Year 1.
Inspectors also recognised the school's strong focus on personal development, describing its character curriculum as a 'notable strength'. Pupils benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities, leadership roles and wider experiences that help them develop confidence, resilience, and independence. Pupils ‘carry out these responsibilities with pride’.
Inspectors concluded Manor Primary School to be at Strong Standard for Achievement, Attendance and behaviour, Curriculum and teaching, Early years, Inclusion, Leadership and governance, and Personal development and wellbeing. The school also met safeguarding standards.
Headteacher Julie Mills said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection.
“This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our children and the support of our families and directors. We are incredibly proud of our whole school community and look forward to building on this success.”
Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: "This is a tremendous result for everyone connected with Manor Primary School.
"To achieve Strong Standard in every inspection area is a real endorsement of the work taking place across the school. The report highlights high achievement, an unwavering commitment to inclusion and a learning environment where pupils feel valued, supported and inspired to succeed.
"It is particularly pleasing to see recognition for the school's strong culture of aspiration, the excellent support provided to vulnerable pupils, and the wide range of opportunities that help children develop both academically and personally. Staff, pupils, leaders, governors and families should all be incredibly proud of this outstanding outcome."
