The team at Graiseley Family Hub have seen how people have struggled this
year with rising costs and wanted to ensure children got a chance to enjoy
themselves at a Christmas party with dinner and presents.
The City of Wolverhampton Council contributed funds along with various other
partners, including local businesses, Councillors and the First Abide charity,
which organised the meal.
Leader of the council, Councillor Stephen Simkins said:
‘We’ve all felt the pinch this year with the cost of living crisis, but it affects
some more than others.
‘Some children don’t get to experience events like Christmas in the same
ways as others and doing something for a child, no matter how small can
make all the difference.
‘Every child should have the chance to see Santa and have fun at a festive
party, so I’m so glad the community has come together and made such a
wonderful event happen, thanks to all involved, great job.’

The event included a cooked Christmas lunch, visit to Santa, where every
child received a toy and chocolates and got to enjoy a disco and party games,
creative activities and carol singers.
