Chapel Ash island and Ring Road St Georges - between Bilston Road/Birmingham Road and Snow Hill - have been fully resurfaced and relined under City of Wolverhampton Council's £10 million highways investment programme for 2026/27.
Alongside the resurfacing works council teams have carried out kerb repairs, drainage clearance, sign cleaning, guard rail repairs, weeding, tree maintenance and more - reducing the need for additional works and separate temporary road closures.
Permanent pothole repairs have also been carried out on the opposite side of Ring Road St Georges.
Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal, Cabinet Member for City Transport at City of Wolverhampton Council, said: "It's great to see these two major resurfacing schemes completed as we continue to invest in improving roads across Wolverhampton.
"Taking a joined-up approach means that alongside resurfacing we're able to deliver multiple improvements at the same time - making the best use of resources and minimising the impact on road users.
"These projects alone will make a huge difference to thousands of people on a daily basis, providing smoother and safer journeys for motorists and other road users.
"It doesn't stop here as resurfacing projects will continue to be carried out across the city over the coming weeks, alongside further coordinated street works."
