The Susan Vickers Foundation's second exhibition, Music Is What Feelings Sound Like, was officially opened by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Paul Singh, on Wednesday, August 19.
Each piece in the exhibition is connected to a song, album or set of lyrics chosen by care-experienced children, young people and families to represent a feeling or personal memory.
Councillor Singh described the exhibition as "a wonderful celebration of music, creativity and expression" and said it had been a pleasure to see the work on display.
Susan Vickers, founder of the Susan Vickers Foundation, said it was an honour to return to Wolverhampton Art Gallery for a second year.
She said the gallery did "a wonderful job of welcoming so many diverse communities", helping care-experienced people to feel welcome and safe.
The exhibition forms part of the foundation's work supporting care-experienced children, young people and families across Wolverhampton through trauma-informed therapy, training and support.
Organisers say the collection provides a way for people to express experiences that can be difficult to put into words, using music as a starting point.
Music Is What Feelings Sound Like runs throughout August at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, with free admission.
