The Creative Chain, a partnership of digital agencies operating in Wolverhampton and the Black Country including several Chamber of Commerce members, delivered a successful Future-Proof Marketing workshop at the National Brownfield Institute, in Cambridge Street, Wolverhampton, on Thursday (September 25) as part of the annual week of events held across the city.

The free morning workshop, attended by business owners and marketing managers, brought together approximately 50 attendees and featured six expert speakers from the marketing, branding and communications sectors.

The lineup included Carolyn Smith of creative agency TPSquared, strategic marketer Chris Green, Mike Chinn of video agency Stone’s Throw Media, digital marketer Gurpreet Dhillion of Digital D, Chris Carter from website experts VOiD Applications and Chris Leggett of public relations agency Osborn Communications.

Attendees received practical, actionable advice across key areas including AI in video marketing, SEO fundamentals, digital marketing automation, brand accessibility, authentic news content and cutting-edge branding strategies for an AI-driven world.

The workshops covered critical topics for modern businesses, from leveraging AI tools effectively while maintaining brand authenticity, to implementing inclusive design principles that expand audience reach.

Speakers addressed both opportunities and challenges in the digital marketing space, providing attendees with realistic frameworks for implementation.

Matt Weston, director of Stone's Throw Media, one of the Creative Chain organisers, said: "With AI among the hot topics facing businesses of all sizes, the range of topics covered by the Future-Proof Marketing event proved a big draw for local companies, with around 50 attendees actively engaging with the content throughout the morning.

“We are grateful to our partners from Wolverhampton Business Week and to our hosts from at the National Brownfield Institute for supporting the session, which offered networking opportunities for delegates.

"It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm for learning about these future-focused marketing approaches, and the quality of questions from our guests showed they were really absorbing the practical insights our speakers shared."

The Creative Chain, launched in 2021 by leading Wolverhampton digital agencies, operates as a not-for-profit business group dedicated to raising the profile of the creative industry talent in the Black Country.

The event was organised to reinforce Wolverhampton's position as a hub for marketing innovation during the city's 12th annual Business Week celebration.
