Wolverhampton-based international removals company, Burke Bros Moving Group has strengthened its team with the appointment of Simon Bennett as part of their leadership team, bringing extensive experience in relationship-building, stakeholder engagement and working with businesses and communities across the West Midlands.
Simon joins Burke Bros in a customer-facing role, working with customers from the initial survey stage through to booking and advising them on the most appropriate moving, packing and storage services for their individual requirements.
Alongside his work with customers, Simon will also focus on developing new business and referral opportunities for Burke Bros, building relationships with professional contacts and organisations across the region.
With a particular interest in developing connections across estate agency, property, legal services, HR and relocation, Simon is looking to build strong relationships with businesses and professionals who may be able to support their clients through a move.
Simon brings a diverse background to the role, including significant experience in politics, public service and stakeholder engagement. He has worked for The Conservative Party, including as a Campaign Manager, and has held roles supporting Members of Parliament at the House of Commons. More recently, he worked on the leadership campaign of a former Cabinet Minister, serving as Operations Coordinator and subsequently Deputy Head of Operations.
Simon is Leader of the Conservative councillors on City of Wolverhampton Council, giving him many years of experience working with residents, community organisations, local businesses and other stakeholders across the city and wider West Midlands. His career has also included almost a decade with Waterlogic UK, where he progressed through a number of roles, as well as experience in community work and professional sports coaching. It is this combination of local knowledge, relationship-building and experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds that Simon is now bringing to Burke Bros.
Speaking about his appointment, Simon said: “I’m delighted to have joined Burke Bros Moving Group. It’s a well-established Wolverhampton business with a strong reputation and I’m really looking forward to becoming part of the team.
What particularly attracted me to the role was the opportunity to work closely with people and build relationships. Throughout my career, whether in politics, public service or the private sector, I’ve always enjoyed meeting people, understanding what matters to them and finding ways to work together.
I’ll be working closely with customers from the initial survey onwards, helping them through what can be a significant transition, while also looking at opportunities to develop new relationships and partnerships for Burke Bros.
I’m particularly keen to connect with people working in estate agency, property, legal services, HR and relocation, as well as businesses across the West Midlands. I’ve built a wide network of contacts in the region over the years and I’m looking forward to developing those relationships further through my work with Burke Bros.”

Simon’s appointment comes as Burke Bros continues to develop its services for domestic and commercial customers. The company provides professional moving and relocation services across the UK and internationally, alongside business and office moves, corporate relocation and secure storage.
