“Light Up Our Ground” Campaign Launched to Secure the Future of Bilston Football Club
Bilston Town has today launched a major community fundraising campaign, “Light Up Our Ground,” aiming to raise £20,000 to install new floodlights and carry out essential improvements to its home ground. The project will enable the club to extend playing hours, host more fixtures, and safely open up additional areas of the ground by repairing walkways and addressing key maintenance issues. These upgrades are vital to supporting the club’s growing number of teams and ensuring the ground remains accessible, safe, and welcoming for players, supporters, and the wider community. Club representatives say the campaign is about more than infrastructure—it’s about safeguarding the future of grassroots football in the area. With improved facilities, the club will be able to offer more opportunities for young players, increase community use of the ground, and create a better matchday experience for everyone.
Bilston Town chairman Jay Morgan said "Our club has been at the heart of the community at Queen Street for well over 100 years. New state of the art floodlights will help us host the highest level of football across both men’s, women’s and local youth teams. It has always been a special place to play under the lights and we want to continue that for generations to come” “This is a big moment for our club,” said Membership Secretary Adam Balfour “Installing new floodlights and improving the ground will really improve what we can offer. It means more football, more opportunities, and a stronger future for everyone involved. We’re calling on the community to get behind us and help make it happen.” The club is encouraging supporters, local businesses, and the wider community to contribute to the appeal. Donations of all sizes will play a crucial role in helping the club reach its target and deliver the project.
The “Light Up Our Ground” campaign is now live, with fundraising activities and events planned over the coming months.
