The Menopause Café provides a safe, welcoming space for colleagues to engage in honest conversations about menopause whether they are experiencing it, supporting someone who is, or simply seeking to learn more. The initiative is part of ASSA ABLOY’s ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing and creating a more inclusive workplace culture.

Led by a specialist speaker Kerry Tonks (Beet Consultancy Ltd), the session covered key topics including:

  • Open discussion around menopause and its symptoms.
  • Understanding the physical, emotional, and mental impacts.
  • The importance of connection, shared experiences, and accessible resources.

By encouraging open discussion, ASSA ABLOY aims to break down stigma, promote empathy, and build a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

“Menopause affects many lives both directly and indirectly,” said Sandeep Pawar, Head of Reward, Benefits and Wellbeing. “By creating space for open conversation, we’re helping to break down stigma and ensure our colleagues feel seen, heard, and supported.”

The Menopause Café will be rolled out across all of ASSA ABLOY’s UK and Ireland sites.

Alongside their menopause Café’s ASSA ABLOY are also kick-starting a colleague communities’ scheme which will include a ‘Pause+’ community.

The aim of the scheme is to bring colleagues who share common interests or characteristics together to offer support and create a safe space for sharing. There will also be a platform to discuss meaningful topics and help to educate the wider business on how ASSA ABLOY can continue to create an inclusive environment for all.
