This volunteer’s week, Healthwatch Wolverhampton are celebrating their volunteers who offer their time and support to make a difference to health and social care services, and thanking them for their hard work, support and dedication.
Volunteer’s Week is a national campaign celebrated every year between 1 to 7 June. This year is the 37th volunteer’s week and focuses on saying thank you. Volunteers continually offer their time to support their communities and this year was no different. Despite all Healthwatch volunteer work initially being postponed volunteers were regularly kept in contact with via phone calls or Zoom coffee mornings. Towards the latter end of the year, volunteers were invited to take part in volunteer work virtually, such as completing surveys or carrying out GP website reviews. Throughout the pandemic, the staff team at Healthwatch Wolverhampton have also made a difference by volunteering within their local communities and delivering prescriptions to patients across the city.
Tracy Cresswell, Healthwatch Wolverhampton Manager said; “We value all of our volunteers and the support they give us, we would not be able to do the work that we do with all their support. As part of volunteering week we have planned events throughout the week to say thank you to our volunteers and show our appreciation to them.”
To say thank you to volunteers, Healthwatch Wolverhampton are hosting a wide range of events across Volunteer’s week, including a virtual chair yoga session and a picnic in West Park.
If you are interested in donating your time, please get in touch with the team or attend the volunteering Q&A session on Zoom Friday 4 June 2021 with Emily.
