A Fandabbydoubledozy Panto Performance!!!!

Is the Panto fantastic? ……… ‘Oh Yes!’ Is it full of Magic and wishes? …….. ‘Oh Yes!’ Is it a real belly full of laughs? …….. ‘Oh Yes!’ Is Churchill in it? ……… ‘Oh Yes!’

Last night I visited the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton for the Panto Performance of Cinderella and it was absolutely stupendous! With a bit of Black Country wit and a cameo role for Bilston born and bred Ozzy Osbourne (not the real one) the show is personalised wonderfully and a real Christmas treat.

The story of Cinderella played beautifully by Danielle York is perhaps the most magical story of all; it captures the dream of every young girl, to become a real princess. With more magic than you can shake your wand at, Wolverhampton’s Christmas pantomime even has a fantasmical flying (and yes it really fly’s) Pegasus to take Cinderella to the ball.

Every character you would expect from the popular tale is extrovertly played to the punchy panto standards ensuring you laugh out loud, shout ‘its behind you’ and boooohisssssss at the baddies. With Stephan Dennis (Paul Robinson in Neighbours) as Dandini, the cruel cousin of Prince Charming trying to steal rule of the kingdom, he bared the brunt of most hissing and booing! Not forgetting of course the campest of camp, flamboyant and jovially played Ugly Sisters.

Not only an extravert, loud and hilariously funny performance, Cinderella also provides a sincere and beautiful voice from the wonderful Fairy Godmother, perfectly played by Niki Evans a 2007 contestant of the nations favorite show The X Factor, and she fly’s too!

Without a shadow of a doubt the real stars of the Cinderella show are of course The Krankies!! With side-splittingly funny performances as Buttons and Baron Hardup, their amusing humor and childish pranks had the whole audience in fantastically good spirits. This is a MUST SEE pantomime this Christmas in Wolverhampton!

If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet ….. do not fear, the panto runs at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre until 31st January 2010!!  Simply call the box office now on 01902 42 92 12.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
