Blazing sunshine, a gentle breeze, rolling countryside, happy people and a beautiful summer walk off the beaten track... these are just a few perks of our wonderfully popular Clarendon Way Walk!
Now in it's 13th year, the walk is our biggest fundraising event, raising vital fundsto help us care for children and young adults living with life limiting and life threatening illnesses from across the south. Choose from two walks, including taking in the beautiful countryside of Broughton and idyllic city landmarks of Winchester.
The two walks to choose from include:
Winchester to Salisbury: 26 miles
This walk starts at 7.45am at Winchester Cathedral, with check in open from 7am and the warm up at 7.35am. It follows the beautiful route of the historic Clarendon Way, finishing at Salisbury Cathedral. 26 miles long, the walk encompasses a diverse range of terrain and will take about 9 hours, so please make sure that you are physically prepared for the challenge.
Broughton to Salisbury: 12 miles
This walk starts at Broughton, almost halfway along the Clarendon Way. This is a wonderful, less challenging walk with outstanding views across open countryside and farmland. You are welcome to start any time between midday to 1.30pm.
The Clarendon Way Walk is not just a walk... when you reach mile 24 at Clarendon Park, the wonderful Lane Clark & Peacock LLP will be hosting a mini Caribbean themed party, featuring reggae music, mocktails, sweets and a place to rest your sore feet ready for the final yomp!
Grab your walking boots, get away from the hustle and bustle and take in the beautiful rolling countryside with the wonderfully popular Clarendon Way Walk.
Tickets include your entry fee, a Clarendon Way Walk t-shirt, a medal, a tasty ice cream and hot or cold drink, comfy slippers to rest your sore feet at the end of the walk and live music to see you over the finish live from the brilliant Saxophony!
This fee only covers the cost of your participation, so we ask each walker to kindly aim to raise £200 minimum sponsorship to help make a difference and contribute towards the hospices' invaluable work.
More than 1,000 people are expected to take part, so sign up early to secure your spot and get started on those training walks!
