The Wimbledon Civic Forum is a community organisation promoting debate and practical action on matters that affect us all in and around Wimbledon

The Wimbledon Civic Forum is a non-party political organisation promoting public discussion and action on important issues that affect Wimbledon and the local area, including: heath, transport, education, youth and urban design.

We assist local organisations, residents' associations, businesses and individuals to get their voices heard and to achieve practical results for the benefit of the community.

The Wimbledon Civic Forum's activities fall under three main headings:

  1. Specialised Public Discussion Forums on Health, Education, Crime, Transport and Youth, along with the Urban Design Task Force. The Forums hold public discussion meetings along designated themes
  2. Task Forces - working groups assigned to resolving key identifiable issues of concern in the local community
  3. Regional Work Shop Groups - efforts towards direct community involvement in the future planning and design of their town and local areas

Features of how the
Wimbledon Civic Forum works:

  • The Forum works with other community organisations and entities who have an issue of importance to air
  • The Forum gets access to decision makers, getting them in a constructive frame of mind
  • The Forum promotes calm and productive dialogue, using the creative energies of local residents
  • The Forum takes the heat and antagonism out of the debate, recognising that we are dealing with the art of the possible
