Premier Foods is to stop making Hovis rolls and will close a distribution depot at Martland Mills near Wigan at a cost of £4m.
The firm is trying to cut costs in a bid to reduce its debt . The firm has net debts £1.375bn.
Chief exec Robert Schofield said: "We are progressing well on our strategic cost reduction targets of delivering procurement savings and improving manufacturing efficiency.”
