Facebook is becoming ever more important in people's lives in Wigan. It is used for keeping in touch with family and friends and posting social events and get togethers.
But perhaps the Lancashire Tea Room in Leigh near Wigan took the convenient form of communication a bit too far when they fired one of their staff with an online message.
The sacked employee, 16-year-old Chelsea Taylor who had worked for the tea room business for two weeks, was involved in a misunderstanding about money.
