Ex Miners. An appeal for colliery tallies or checks

Can anyone help....? I received this several months ago via 'thebestofwigan' website......it's pretty self explanatory....I know he would be delighted to get a response, or at least referred onto someone who may be able to help.
I was never able to get the message out there until just now having launched the blog.
Many thanks
Colin
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you in the hope that you would be kind enough to assist me.
Is there any way you could please circulate my appeal below?
Although i am aware this letter does not constitute local Wigan news i am hoping the good people of wigan can help me.

I was a miner in the Yorkshire pits for 33 years and have now retired.
i have for the past few years been an avid collector of colliery checks or tallies. These are brass discs with the colliery name on and the miners individual number. They were used as a safety measure to record the number of men underground at any one time.

Are there any fellow ex-miners out there who could please help me obtain any checks from the now old closed pits of your area.
                              Yours Sincerely   W.Bennett,
