Care UK’s Harrier Lodge, on Thanet Way, is opening its doors to residents of Whitstable and surrounding areas for to its Friendship Caféon Wednesday 4th November, from 10.30am–11.30am,as part of their permanent community hub at the home.
On the first Wednesday of every month,local peopleareencouraged to visit the home’s café and enjoy hot drinks and freshly baked treatsin good company. The café is open to anyone who wishes to make new friends and chat with residents, team members and other community members in a relaxed environment.
Susan Simmonds, Home Manager at Harrier Lodge, said: “We think these events are a lovely way to have a positive impact on our community, and support anyone who may be feeling lonely.
“Building support systems is extremely important, and we are committed to helping local people understand the help and expertise available at our Friendship Café – a space where everyone is able to relax and enjoy themselves.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming local people and meeting some new faces while enjoying a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.”
Harrier Lodge is a purpose-built care home that has been designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The expert team provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 65 older people in Whitstable. The stunning home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, including its own cinema, hair and beauty salon, and pub.
