Pets Buck The Trend!

It's always lovely to hear of a local success story and in current climates even more so.

The Pet Experience was started in Weymouth in 2006 by Sarah and Cormac Linehan. They initially specialised in dog training classes and pet behaviour counselling. Word spread and the classes soon got very popular. The behaviour counselling also grew with more problem pets and their owners being helped on a daily basis.

In June 2007 The Pet Experience moved into its first premises, the ‘Pet Education Centre’ on the Granby Estate. In the Centre, experience and advice was to be found on all aspects of dog training, pet behaviour and pet care along with an array of pet foods, accessories, supplies and training tools. Despite the economic outlook as 2007 drew to a close, Cormac and Sarah were confident that the Centre would be a success!

On the 1st November 2009 their hard work and commitment was rewarded when The Pet Experience opened the doors to its newly expanded Pet Education Centre at the same location as the original (59 Cambridge Road). By taking advantage of a newly vacated unit next door, Sarah and Cormac were able to nearly triple the size of the Centre. The extra space has been used to display more stock and new lines (such as the full range of Ruffwear dog backpacks and accessories) as well as implement a new Weight Management programme for overweight pets using veterinary standard weighing scales. The same friendly advice and service is still available and Sammie, Cookie and Teddy are still there to welcome you - you’ll just have to allow more time to wander around!

The Pet Experience are also holding an Open Day on the 19th December 2009 - for full details, please see our Events
