Triple Olympic gold and silver medallist, Ben Ainslie, is Britain’s most successful Olympic sailor ever!

He won his first Olympic medal - silver at just 19 years of age in the Laser class at the 1996 Atlanta Games.  Four years later at the 2000 Sydney Olmpics he achieved every athlete’s dream of a gold medal.

After Sydney, Ben switched from the Laser to the Finn Class and won gold again at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

In 2008 at the Beijing Olympics, despite light winds at the venue and falling ill with mumps just days before, Ben went on to win his third consecutive Gold.

These are just a few of Ben's many outstanding achievements to date.

Ben has just completed his autobiography entitled, 'Close To The Wind'.  If you would like to be one of the first people to purchase a signed copy and to meet Ben in person - he will be doing a book signing at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy on Saturday 12th September from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

A great opportunity to meet Ben and an inspiration to all our local sailors who I'm sure would love a signed copy of Ben's book for Christmas!
