Weymouth FC enter this their 119th season as a football club representing the town and local community.

Dogged by financial troubles for many years, the new Board of Directors led by chairman Ian Ridley and the loyal staff are working tirelessly to ensure that the Terras not only survive but start to flourish.

New first team manager ex Terras favourite Matt Hale has gone about his task of building a completely new squad at a fraction of the previous years budget with vigour and has already convinced five players to join his 'revolution'. An agreement is soon to be reached with many others ensuring that Weymouth are competitive in the Blue Square South league.

There has never been a better chance for young local talent to grasp the opportunity and secure themselves a place in the squad. Indeed Hale has already been impressed with what he saw at a recent trial match and has invited 10 youngsters to attend pre season training as part of the first team squad.

Assisting in the development of the young players this season will hopefully be a new reserve side made up almost totally of local lads and an under 18 team who will be defending their South West Counties Youth League crown that they won last season.

Also the club boasts an amazing youth section where boys from the age of 4 are nurtured through to hopefully represent the Terras one day.

The club does not forget the fairer sex and have an extremely successful ladies team who are the best in the County and who play in the South West Women's Football League. Underpinning this team is a number of successful girls teams from under 10 to under 17.

For the club to survive however they desperately need more assistance from both the business community in terms of financial support and sponsorship and local residents in terms of community support.

If you would like to assist in any way please call the club on 01305 785558.
