Opportunities for adults to make a brighter future for themselves at Weymouth College

If you are unemployed, stuck in a dead-end job or enjoy your work but are keen to progress, then help is at hand. Weymouth College is hosting an 'Opportunities Day' from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 4th July. On offer will be professional advice on employment / training / education opportunities for adults and school-leavers from a wide range of experts. They will be there to answer you questions on a personal, one-to-one basis, but they will also be giving short presentations you can attend which will include setting up in business, getting into higher education, and training for a new career.

Opportunities Day will also have a bouncy castle, Asian dance troupe, barbecue, live music, mini-digger competition and other attractions to make it fun for all the family. And your bus fare to the event will be refunded if you keep your ticket.

Opportunities Day is being held to make adults more aware of all the chances to transform their lives open to them. And not all training costs - the Fresh Start course at Weymouth College, for example, is completely free and provides the qualifications employers seek in just five weeks.

Simon Case is an ex-Fresh Start student. Simon said:

" I joined the Fresh Start course after a period of prolonged illness. The course boosted my confidence, made me realise my potential and gave me a push in the right direction. I am now a student on the Access to Higher Education course at Weymouth College, and from here hope to be accepted on an Ecology degree course at Bournemouth University starting next September. The Fresh Start course helped me to change my life."
