With festival season officially under way, a care home in Banwell is welcoming the community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.

On Saturday 8th August from 10.30am-3.30pm, Care UK’s Mead Field Manor will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.

Visitors to the Derek Mead Way home can look forward to celebrating the flavours of Somerset through a variety of delicious treats specially prepared by the home’s head chef, while enjoying family-friendly entertainment.

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and share what life in a care home is really like.

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
