WHAT A GREAT IDEA - read further to see how millions were raised in just one morning for cancer research.

VISITORS to a Somerset garden centre last Friday (September 24, 2010) helped raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support’s national ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.

Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll collected more than £461 by offering customers free tea and coffee on Friday, September 24 in return for a donation to the charity.

General Manager, Peter Burks said: “We held the coffee morning to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and it was a great success. Lots of people from the area came along to the event and helped us support this worthy cause.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship event. Last year (2009), more than 43,000 official coffee mornings were held, raising more than £7.9million for the charity.
