Elmer Day 2018: Join us in celebrating Elmer Day at Welwyn Garden City library, with story time and crafts! In honour of everyone's favourite patchwork elephant, dress up in your brightest clothes and head down to the library at 2:15pm for colourful stories and crafts. Free, no booking required! 3.15 to 3.45.

Ellenbrook Fields parkrun - Weekly Free 5km Timed Run: A free 5k run held on Saturday mornings in Hatfield. Open to all, free, and safe and easy to take part in. 9am.

Hatfield General Market: Hatfield General Market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am-4pm. There are a range of stalls offering a variety of products from, jewellery, fish, fruit and veg, clothing, phones and accessories, key cutting and much more. 8am to 4pm.

Welwyn Trail Running: Join us for a run off road, on the trails, bridleways and farmland tracks around Welwyn, with UK Athletics Endurance Running Coach. All runs are free, for any ability, male or female. Beginner sessions too. 10.30am to 12pm.

Beehive Junior Parkrun: Free weekly timed 2k run for juniors (4-14 year olds). Held every Sunday at 9am at King George V Playing Fields, Welwyn Garden City.

Musiclab Sunday Session: Want to take your playing to the next level? School Holiday Activities at Welwyn Roman Baths: Get messy making your own mono print based on Roman patterns and objects. Activities take place between 2 - 4pm. No booking required but due to the drop in nature of these activities places are limited and are provided on a first come first served basis. 

Social Dance with Mr Wonderful: Social dance with Mr Wonderful at Club de Havilland, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. An enjoyable evening of dancing for all ages. Large sprung floor, candle lit, full bar and tea/coffee available. All ages and abilities welcome. 7.30pm to 11pm. £10.

School Holiday Activities at Mill Green Museum: Design and Decorate a Fabric Bag - create your own design to decorate a fabric bag. Activity times 10am, 11.15am, 1.15pm and 2.30pm.  They last for one hour.  No booking required, just come along, but please come at the start of the session as you'll need a full hour to make your creations.

Baby Rhyme Time - Hatfield Library: Join us at Hatfield Library every Tuesday for Baby Rhyme Time, 10.30-11.00 and repeated 11.30-12.00. Baby Rhyme Times are a fun half hour session of songs and rhymes suitable for babies and toddlers of all ages.

The Scribblers' Club: A place to explore your storytelling and writing abilities. Have you ever felt the urge to tell your own story, to write a children's tale or just have a go at writing short stories? At the Scribblers' club, there are no limits, no rules. Whether you're into true life stories, fiction, poetry, fantasy, or memoirs, we want to hear your work. We meet every Tuesday at The Community Space in Tesco, Hatfield from 14.00 to 16.00 and admission is £1.

Walking Football: Get fit with Walking Football at Welwyn Garden City FC. All welcome - open to any gender. 10am to 11am. £5 per session.

Welwyn Garden City Photographic Club: We meet from 8pm to 10pm each Tuesday at the Mill Green Golf Club which has a bar for drinks, teas and coffees. The Club’s aim is to encourage people whatever their skill level to practice the art of photography and as such we provide an exciting series of events where people can meet and compare notes. We welcome everyone from absolute beginner to very experienced photographers who have achieved accreditation nationally and/or internationally.

The Tuesday Allsorts Group: Join us for a new free monthly group at Welwyn Garden City library - meet new people, chat over coffee, and share 'all sorts' of activities! 10.30am to 12pm.

Welwyn Harmony Chorus: Welwyn Harmony Chorus is an enthusiastic women's chorus based in Welwyn Garden City and the only ladies' barbershop chorus in Hertfordshire. Ladies acapella four part harmony singing, both modern and traditional songs including many in the barbershop style. We meet every Tuesday evening at the Vineyard Barn in Welwyn Garden City, we have a chorus of around 35 members ranging in age from teenagers to 'I'd rather not say!'

ColourWheel Part Time Art Classes for Adults - Beginners & Improvers: The 13 week course starts on 16th May at Welwyn Garden City golf club, all materials provided. If you think you can't draw you're wrong, you just need to be shown how! ColourWheel classes will give you the right tools and skills and you'll be on your way to producing work you never thought you could. 9.30am, 12.30pm or 7.30pm.

Toddler Tales Hatfield Library: Toddler Tales at Hatfield Library is the perfect next step from Baby Rhyme Time, with a mix of lively stories and rhymes for you and your child to join in with. 2pm to 3pm.

Welwyn Hatfield Community Choir: Our community choir is open to all abilities, you don't need to be able to read music, or to have sung anywhere except the bath/kitchen before. We sing material from simple rounds to show tunes to opera & everything in between. We aim for 1-2 public performances each term but no one is obliged to perform if they don't want to. We rehearse every Wednesday of term time at Onslow St Audrey's School, Hatfield. 7pm.

"The Day They Launched A Woodpecker!": A somewhat different kind of presentation as part of the Institute of Physics lecture series at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. Local space expert, author and broadcaster Jerry Stone presents a selection from his personal collection of weird and wonderful stories about space exploration. Everyone is welcome - and you certainly don't have to be a space expert to enjoy this unique presentation. 7pm to 9pm. Free entry.

KCC Little Ones: KCC Little Ones is our group for 0-5's. All are welcome, mums, dads, grandparents and carers. It is a great time to meet others in the local area and have a cup of tea while the kids play. It's a place for friendship, support, play and tea and biscuits. Older siblings are welcome during school holidays - just bring something age appropriate for them to do! The Harrier, Assembly Hall, Hatfield., 10am to 11.30am. Cost is £1 per family.

Welwyn & Hatfield 5 a side football league: The Welwyn & Hatfield 5 a side league takes place on Thursday evenings on the fantastic 3G pitches at Hatfield Football Academy. All games are FA refereed, footballs provided, league tables/fixtures/results updated on our website. No joining fees, teams just pay a weekly match fee of £25. 7pm to 10pm.

Shape Up - Free Men's 12 week Weight Management Programme: For men aged 18-65 with a BMI of 28 or higher, starting on 19th April at the Jim McDonald Centre, Hatfield. Weekly at 7.30- 9pm, running for a total of 12 weeks. Designed to educate attendees on exercise and nutrition, the sessions involve seminars on healthy lifestyles and group exercises.The aim is simple, we want to help as many overweight men as possible engage with and be successful with our programme so that they can lose weight, get educated and get healthy.

Womens 25+ Get Back In The Game Session: This session is for Women 25+ who are either looking to get back into football or looking to start. There is no football experience required and sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the players. This session is a great way to keep fit and meet new people. Each session costs just £2 and your first session is FREE. At Gosling Sports Park in association with Stevenage Football Club Foundation. 8-9pm.

Welwyn Garden City Folk Dance Club: Friendly sociable folk dancing club in central Welwyn Garden City. The club meets every Thursday between 8pm and 10pm at the Welwyn Garden City United Reform Church opposite Sainsbury’s in Church Road. Learn to dance in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Beginners are welcome, and all the dances are walked through before being danced. You can come alone or with a friend.
